The XGB team must protect a town from the Jersey Devil, despite not having any of their equipment.
- The Cavalry Arrives Late: Egon, Janine and Slimer arrives minutes after the Jersey Devil is defeated. However, Slimer does give the townsfolk a good scare.
- Cool Old Guy: Old Ben is the only person of the town that is sympathetic towards the Ghostbusters's plight and came to their aid to fight JD.
- Instant Convertible: When the XGB first encountered JD, it blasted away the roof of Roland's car, to his chagrin. Eduardo looks on the bright side that he always wanted a convertible.
- The Jersey Devil: The titular creature. Also nicknamed as JD.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Since JD was drawn to the sword that was forged from a piece of itself, Kylie tries to lure it away from town with the sword. Unfortunately, JD ends up taking the sword from her and eating it, restoring itself and regaining its full strength.
- No Ontological Inertia: Upon JD's defeat, all the metal it had rusted away is restored.
- Reduced to Dust: The Jersey Devil attacks with a breath attack that turns metal into red dust.
