• Aesop Amnesia: Caruso instantly forgets the morality lesson he got on the trip once he makes it back to school.
• All for Nothing: Principal Edwards intentionally made the bus leave Chris and Caruso behind so they work together and put all the petty bigotry (from Caruso) aside. Caruso instantly goes back to torturing Chris as soon as he’s back in Brooklyn Beach.
• Karma Houdini: Principal Edwards never faces comeuppance for his botched team-building exercise between Chris and Caruso.
• Not Quite the Right Thing: Principal Edwards hopes that the experiment will snuff out the racism from Caruso, but the most it accomplishes is Caruso getting along with and earning the respect of some black thugs.
• Yank the Dog's Chain: Chris and Caruso actually seem to be on respectable terms when they’re on the way back to Corleone. As soon as they’re back, Caruso immediately bullies Chris again. Chris then finds out that the bus leaving them behind was intentional, as part of a plan that Principal Edwards came up with to get them to set aside their differences. Edwards faces no responsibility for his actions.
