• Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: When Chris doesn't come home well after night falls, Tonya is actually concerned that he might be dead. Later, Chris makes her hot chocolate.
• Manipulative Bitch: Tonya tries to make hot chocolate in the worst way possible; using matches. Chris thankfully catches her in the act. However, Rochelle catches Chris with the matches in his hand and yells at him, with Tonya claiming that she tried talking him out of it.
• No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Chris teaches Tonya how to make hot chocolate. He then immediately gets in trouble for making it for her since Rochelle prohibited her from having it, unbeknownst to him.
• Not What It Looks Like: Rochelle catches Chris like this twice. In the beginning of the episode, she catches him with matches that he just took away from Tonya to prevent her from making a fatal mistake. At the end, she catches him making hot chocolate for Tonya when she prohibited her from having it, when he wasn't knowledgeable of this restriction and was simply teaching her how to properly make it out of the goodness of his heart.
• Sherlock Scan: This is how Greg's father realizes someone's been in the house.
• Ungrateful Bastard: Chris finally teaches Tonya how to properly make hot chocolate by the end of the episode. Tonya responds by framing Chris when Rochelle catches them and explains that she didn't want her to have hot chocolate.
• You Are Grounded!: Art grounds Greg for bringing Chris to his home without his permission and he took his Atari for a week.
