An Aesop: Everybody has something they are afraid of. Just because someone is afraid of something you aren't scared of, it doesn't give you the right to look down on their fears or treat them lightly.
Double Standard: Emmy has to point out that it's not fair of Max to look down on Ord's fear of bugs when he himself takes his own fear of snakes very seriously.
Everybody Has Standards: Everybody calls out Max on pranking Ord with a rubber spider when he knows full well he's afraid of bugs.
Face Your Fears: Although Ord is deathly afraid of bugs, he finds it in himself to not panic when the butterfly they've been searching for lands on his nose. The entire way to Quetzel's garden, he walks steadily to deliver the butterfly to him so his collection may be complete.
Not So Above It All: Despite claiming to be fearless, Max is scared out of his wits when he sees a snake, the only thing he's remotely afraid of.
