Dora and Boots read a story about a king and queen who love each other very much. But when a mean magician named El Mago casts a spell which turns the couple into mountains, Dora and Boots jump into the book and set off on a wild adventure to make it to the mountains and break the spell so the king and queen can be reunited!
Tropes:
- Curse Escape Clause: Climbing the mountains and yelling "Te amo!" breaks the spell on King Popo and Queen Maria.
- Don't Wake the Sleeper: Just before reaching the mountains, Dora and Boots have to sneak quietly past El Mago who is napping, with the help of La Lechuza the owl.
- Gratuitous Spanish: "Te amo" means "I love you" in Spanish.
- Portal Picture: Dora and Boots jump into the "Te amo" story to help King Popo and Queen Maria.
- The Power of Love: Generally the story revolves around this, with the only way to break El Mago's spell on the king and queen is to shout "Te amo!" from atop the mountains.
- Taken for Granite: El Mago's spell on King Popo and Queen Maria turns them into large stone mountains of their own heads.
