The Phantom Menace. Darth Vader, who has somehow traveled back in time from just before his confrontation with Luke Skywalker in
The Empire Strikes Back, is also on the planet, and rescues Queen Amidala and her enterouge from the Trade Federation. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are shocked and suspicious of Vader, especially after he reveals that he is a Sith Lord, but Vader shows no interest in fighting them and instead aids them in getting the Queen off Naboo aboard her royal starcruiser.
