• Artistic License – Medicine: While it's entirely reasonable—even in The '80s—that Bobby's injuries were too great for him to be saved, doctors don't appear to have even tried to save him, and there is no on-screen explanation given as to why.
• How Dare You Die on Me!: J.R. takes Bobby's death particularly hard. He barely averts Men Don't Cry for now with a Single Tear.
  J.R.: Don’t do this to me, Bobby! Don’t leave me!
• Murder the Hypotenuse: Katherine tried to do this to Pamela by running her over with a car, but Bobby pushed her out of the way and took the hit instead. Katherine then crashes into the back of another truck parked in the park, and herself dies.
• Put on a Bus: Lucy and Mitch remarry and move to Atlanta, while Katherine is killed instantly in the aftermath of running down Bobby. It would be several seasons after the Dream Season before any of them return, despite these changes being rescinded.
