Roween Ryan was a bank teller who was killed in a robbery in 2000. Her case is reopened when the bank where she used to work in was robbed again, possibly by the same robbers.
Tropes:
- The Chessmaster: Julius is a con man and master manipulator who is adept at finding people's weaknesses and exploiting them, such as convincing them to pull off bank robberies.
- Deliberately Monochrome: Unlike episodes investigating crimes taking places in the 1940s, the flashback scene took place in 2000 but are in black-and-white.
- Extreme Doormat: Phil is The Alcoholic, and thus easily manipulated by Julius.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: The shy Roween stands in contrast to her boisterous sister Terri.
- Old Flame: Ray Williams is an old lover of Lilly's during their teenage years, and almost got married.
