Celebrating Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, Simon Belmont attends a ceremony where he's supposed to inherit the ancient weapons of his ancestor, Trevor Belmont. However, the Poltergeist King, who gave Trevor those weapons, says he really defeated the Count and Trevor took all the credit. Captain N and Simon head into the depths of Castlevania to get to the bottom of these stories.
Tropes:
- Generation Xerox: We see Trevor Belmont's face on his tombstone, and he looks exactly like Simon.
- Remember the New Guy?: If the Count had a son, you might think it would've come up in one or two of the N Team's numerous other encounters with him.
- Samus Is a Girl: Aversion. The wizard who guest-stars and helped Trevor on his quest is, one would assume, supposed to be Sypha Belnades. Who's revealed to actually be a woman in her ending, something which the modern Castlevania series made no secret of at all.
- Weaksauce Weakness: The Count uses the Poltergeist King's stolen staff to cast magic, but apparently being spritzed with water can break the spell.
