All Love Is Unrequited: Arnie is clearly smitten by the voluptuous and conniving barmaid, Shari, who only sees him as a mentally retarded buffoon and totally socially inept.

Defeat Means Friendship: Hoss and Arnie brawl for more than an hour, and amazingly, both hold their own. After they finally tire out, they become fast friends ... and both had forgotten why they started fighting in the first place.
Does Not Know His Own Strength: A key part of this episode centers on Arnie's violent temper and inability to control what appears to be superhuman strength. Two people – a Ponderosa ranch hand and Shari, the barmaid – learn too late not to make Arnie angry. Additionally, Hoss gets on the wrong end of Arnie's brute strength.
