On a hot day, Chilli and the kids are in the living room, and Bluey is playing with the fan. Bandit then arrives and reveals that Stripe let him and his family use his pool while he's away, so they leave to have a swim. Chilli reminds them to pack other things besides the "fun stuff", but they dismiss her with, "Boring!".
On the way there, Bluey complains that Chilli is a "fusspot", but when they get there, Bandit has to carry the girls to the pool as the ground is hot and they've left their flip-flops at home for being "boring". Then, they realised that they also left the sunscreen at home for being "boring", so they have to stay in the shade.
They swim for a bit, but Bluey's eyes sting because she left her goggles at home, and Bingo is afraid of a pool cleaner. Then, it turns out that they've forgotten to pack the sinking toys. Eventually, the shade recedes to the point where there's not enough room to have fun.
They decide to leave (disappointing the girls), but then Chilli arrives, bringing all the "boring stuff" with her, and they have fun at the pool after all.
This episode provides examples of:
- Absurd Phobia: Bingo is terrified of the cleaning device in the pool, and since she didn't pack her floaties she can't swim away from it. Justified due to her young age and the fact that she's never seen one before.
- Big Damn Kiss: Towards the end, as Bluey watches Bandit and Chilli kiss, the animation slows, the sun shines and beautiful music plays.
- Eye Scream: Downplayed to an irritating extent. The chlorine in the pool hurts Bluey's eyes.
- Foreshadowing: At the beginning, Bluey says she doesn't want to brush her teeth as that's "boring", and Chilli replies, "Boring things are important too". Bluey denies this, and Chilli replies, "You sound like your dad". Later in the episode, Bandit dismisses some things as boring, but then they turn out to be important.
- Funny Fan Voice: Bluey speaks into the electric fan while it's on to complain about having to brush her teeth on a hot day. Chilli copies her robotic voice to tell her that "boring things are still important", to Bluey's frustration.
- Furry Reminder: Since he forgot to bring any towels, Bandit gets dry by shaking himself off after getting out of the pool, like a real dog would. He advises Bluey to do the same, but since she's so young, she isn't very good at it.
- Good-Times Montage: To drive home how much more fun the Heelers have with the "boring" supplies than without, the audience is treated to the family having a greater range of activities they can do now that they're properly equipped. The Heelers have lunch, the sun screen allows the girls to swim in the sun, Bingo's floaties enables her to swim away from the "scary" pool cleaner, and the sisters get to play in the pool to its fullest.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: Due to not packing sunscreen, the Heelers have to resort to using the clouds to safely play in the pool. When Bluey asks her dad if the shade will get bigger, Bandit assumes to be the case. One Jump Cut later, and the three of them are huddled against the shallow end due to the increase in sunlight.
