Playing With / Stimulant Speedtalk

Go To

Basic Trope: Stimulants (such as cocaine, amphetamines, and caffeine) cause people to talk a lot, often very quickly, and often about nothing in particular.

  • Straight: Alice does a lot of stimulants and begins talking really fast for hours about how the carpet looks.
  • Exaggerated: Alice tries every stimulant on Earth, and somehow ends up talking for days about a trivial subject.
  • Downplayed:
    • Alice has a little too much caffeine and ends up speaking slightly faster than she usually does.
    • Sugar Causes Hyperactivity, for when the "stimulant" is simply sugar.
  • Justified:
    • Truth in Television, to an extent; stimulants can cause someone to talk faster than normal.
    • Alice also got involved in a conversation while trying stimulants.
  • Inverted:
    • Depressants cause Alice to speak faster than usual.
    • Alice is usually a Motor Mouth, but she becomes The Quiet One under the influence of stimulants.
  • Subverted: ???
  • Double Subverted: ???
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Stimulants don't cause anyone to talk quickly.
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: Stimulants are given to Alice as a Truth Serum, since she's more likely to be more honest than expected when under the influence.
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
