Basic Trope: A character hides in plain sight by pretending to be a statue.
- Straight: Bob is chasing Alice through a museum. She poses with some statues to hide as Bob walks by.
- Exaggerated: Alice does this in a supermarket, or somewhere else where there are no statues.
- Downplayed: Alice hides behind a statue.
- Justified:
- Bob has poor eyesight, and there's nowhere else for Alice to hide.
- The museum is full of hyper realistic Alice replicas.
- Inverted: Alice animates a statue to throw off Bob.
- Subverted: Alice immediately realizes how no one would be fooled and runs off as Bob approaches.
- Double Subverted: But then Alice has no choice but to do this, and to her surprise it works.
- Parodied: Due to only being near nude statues, Alice strips naked and poses with them. A couple museumgoers arrive, admire her and take photos of her. Bob notices but decides to let her suffer. Alice eventually drops the act when a Dirty Kid tries to grope her and runs away.
- Averted: Alice doesn't pose as a statue.
- Defied: Official policy is to shine a light in all the statues' eyes just to make sure nobody's posing as one.
