Basic Trope: A character wins back his allies by admitting that he can't accomplish things on his own.

  • Straight: Bob tells his friends that he can't defeat Emperor Evulz without their help. His friends soon forgive him and join along with him in his quest.
  • Exaggerated: Bob tells his friends that he is useless without his friends and soon his friends greet him with open arms and defeated Evulz with ease.
  • Downplayed: Bob admits to his friends that even if there times he can do things on his own, there are other things that he can't.
  • Justified: Bob is The Chosen One, and being the chosen one requires him to make friends and keep them around; he was too eager to acknowledge this until now.
  • Inverted: Bob has brought his friends along to help him defeat the forces of Evulz, but realizes that he has to do this by himself and tells his friends about this matter.
  • Subverted: Bob finally asks his friends for help after he runs into a significant obstacle, but his Fairy Companion convinces him that this particular challenge can only be defeated by The Chosen One, and his friends' presence would just hinder the battle.
  • Double Subverted: The Fairy Companion is wrong, or is flat-out lying. Bob is almost killed by the monster he's facing and screams his friends' names. They arrive just in time to save Bob's life and help him in his subsequent battles.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: ???
  • Enforced: Because it's a series which advocates The Power of Friendship, the writers have to make the situation where Bob admits that he can't do this on his own.
  • Lampshaded: "Nice to admit you needed our friendship, pal."
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Deconstructed: Bob's friends doesn't buy into Bob's humility and tell him that he's too late making amends with them, and hoped he loses to Evulz.
  • Reconstructed: Eventually, Bob's friends realize how horrible they were in leaving Bob helpless against Evulz and soon joined him side by side. Not only they defeated Evulz, but they also restored their broken friendship.
