Basic Trope: Someone hides their abnormal trait, usually by clothing.
- Straight: Bob is a angel, and he hides his wings under two pairs of capes.
- Exaggerated: Because people believe Beauty Equals Goodness Bob makes himself hideous, just to make sure not a single soul could even consider that he is an angel.
- Downplayed: The wings slightly poke out of the capes, but from a distance are unnoticeable.
- Justified: Bob just wants to be normal.
- Inverted: Bob makes it pretty clear what he is.
- Subverted: As the party is walking through a desert, Bob gets to sweaty and finally removes his capes, leaving his party members in awe.
- Double Subverted: But once they are out of it, Bob puts the capes back on.
- Parodied: Bob's "disguise" is a piece of paper saying "those wings are fake." No one buys it.
- Zig Zagged: ???
- Averted: Bob does nothing about his appearance, and no one bats an eye.
- Enforced: "It would be too unrealistic if Bob decides to waltz through the streets unnoticed."
- Lampshaded: ???
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: "I had enough of this disguise."
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
- Deconstructed: ???
- Reconstructed: ???
