Basic Trope: An explosive can be set off with the slightest impact.
- Straight: Alice is carrying a bomb. She drops it, and the impact causes it to explode.
- Exaggerated: Alice taps the bomb with her finger, and that causes it to explode.
- Downplayed: The bomb is already on a timer to go off - the impact damages the timer, causing it to go off quicker.
- Justified:
- The bomb is old and unstable.
- Alice does not know how to handle explosives properly.
- Inverted: When the bomb falls, the impact breaks part of the bomb's mechanism, causing it to become inert.
- Subverted: Alice freaks out when the bomb starts to fall, only for nothing to happen on impact.
- Double Subverted:
- After Alice breaths a sigh of relief, the bomb explodes.
- But when Alice goes to pick the bomb back up, it explodes.
- Parodied: A fly lands on the bomb, triggering a massive explosion.
- Zig-Zagged: Alice drops the bomb three times. It doesn't explode until the third impact.
- Averted:
- There is no bomb.
- Alice never drops the bomb.
- Enforced: Wouldn't be much of an action movie if things didn't explode.
- Lampshaded: "Be careful, that bomb's unstable. It could go off with the slightest touch."
- Invoked: The bomb was intentionally designed to be easily triggered.
- Exploited: Alice's boss at the mafia wants her dead. So he assigned her to deliver a bomb that he knows to be unstable.
- Defied: Alice transports the bomb tightly-packed in an explosion-proof container.
- Discussed: "Lucky I'm not in an action movie or a video game, or this thing would explode with the slightest impact."
- Conversed:
- Implied: One of Alice's bosses yells at another for assigning Alice to deliver the bomb when she's known to be very clumsy. As they are arguing, they see an explosion at the building Alice was supposed to collect the bomb.
- Deconstructed: The mad bomber goes through henchmen rather quickly, as they keep getting blown up by accident when trying to set up the bombs.
