Playing With / Duel of Seduction

Basic trope: Two characters actively try to seduce each other.

  • Straight: Alice and Bob try to seduce each other in order to get information or attract the other to their respective side.
  • Exaggerated: Alice and Bob are having a literal Orgasmic Combat.
  • Downplayed: Bob and Alice are trying to subtly manipulate each other by flirting with each other.
  • Justified: Both Alice and Bob are agents trained since children to seduce people, so they naturally try to put their skills to work when they meet.
  • Inverted: Alice and Bob are trying to make the other stay away from their business.
  • Subverted: Alice and Bob seem to be trying to seduce each other, but it's later revealed that they are not.
  • Double Subverted: ...however, it's all a ruse by both sides, and they are really trying it.
  • Parodied:
    • It seems that Alice and Bob are trying to manipulate each other, but everyone can see that they are simply in love but are too tortuous to realize it.
    • Alice and Bob are trying to manipulate each other, but they actually have no clue about seducing, and have to rely in the aid of books in the line of "The Art of Seduction For Dummies".
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Bob and Alice don't try to seduce each other.
  • Enforced: A seduction duel happens in the work due to Executive Meddling Rule of Sexy.
  • Lampshaded: "Those two are having quite a battle of the sexes, aren't they?"
  • Invoked: Charles sets Bob and Alice to put their seduction skills against each other in order to get rid of them and have free way.
  • Exploited: Charles capitalizes the already existent game among them to manipulate them.
  • Defied: Alice tries to seduce Bob and vice versa, but one of the two decides the other is not going to be an easy target due to their similar intention, and they leave the game.
  • Discussed: "They are too skilled in the art of seduction. They are not going to get anything... or perhaps they both will get it?"
  • Conversed: "Man, those flirtings are boring. Why can't they fight, or at least get it on right?"
  • Deconstructed: After strenuous duels of seduction, Alice and Bob eventually fall in love with each other due to the sheer amount of on/off, but they can't bring it out because each one thinks that it means he/she has fallen in the other's trap.
  • Reconstructed: ...However, they finally realize his and the other's feelings, and they start a Dating Catwoman situation with the hopes to be together some day.
  • Played For Laughs:
    • Alice and Bob try to seduce each other, but people around them instead believe that they are simply a couple in love failing at hiding it.
    • Bob and Alice try increasingly complex methods to seducing each other, including inviting themselves to expensive pleasure trips around the world.
  • Played For Drama: Alice and Bob are socially succesful people, but with no real friends or loving relationships. They try to get what they want from each other via seduction because they don't know another way to get closer to people.
