Basic Trope: A giant character knocks around a smaller character with a small action like a flick of the finger.

  • Straight: Alice is a Giant Woman and when Bob, a human, harasses her she flicks him and sends him flying.
  • Exaggerated:
    • If Alice so much as takes a step forward, entire cities could shatter from the impact around her.
    • When Alice flicks Bob he flies several miles and lands in the next county.
  • Downplayed:
    • Alice flicks Bob just enough to have him fall on his butt. He exclaims "what was that for?!".
    • Alice has her foot in the air and Bob is standing on her shoe. When Alice shakes her foot, Bob nearly falls off.
  • Justified: Because Alice is really big, it also means she's naturally really strong.
  • Inverted: Bob has Super-Strength and sends Alice flying with a flick.
  • Subverted: Alice prepares her fingers in a flicking gesture, and Bob braces for impact. Instead Alice playfully and gently pokes him the nose.
  • Double Subverted: That poke in the nose ends up with a severe bruise.
  • Parodied: Alice is only a few inches taller than Bob but is still strong enough to send him flying with a flick.
  • Zig-Zagged: Bob says he has some kind of disease, that makes his skin extremely vulnerable, no wonder he got a bruise. But later we see him beaten by group of delinquents, who were knocked away by Alice, and Bob has no visible damage, so it?s up to viewer to decide whether he was lying or not.
  • Averted: ???
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: Alice is in love with Bob and knows he has a Power Dynamics Kink. So she knocks him over with a casual flick as her way of flirting with him.
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: Bob dodges Alice's finger so he doesn't get flicked.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: ???
  • Deconstructed: Alice flicking Bob into the air kills him instantly and makes people start persecuting her for her gianthood.
  • Reconstructed: Alice learns to control her strength so she doesn't accidentally kill people with a flick, and now uses her strength to protect people instead of petty revenge.
  • Played for Laughs: Bob is shown dizzy and and with nothing worse than a few minor amusing injuries after landing. Because he was not seriously injured, and because he was being a Jerkass before getting flicked, the scene is funny rather than concerning.
  • Played for Drama: Alice is very abusive towards Bob and uses her power to torture him. Everybody, including Bob, are just too weak and afraid to do something about it, so they pretend there is nothing wrong.
  • Played for Horror: Alice does things like flick Bob around, blow him over with an exhalation, and causes earthquakes by stomping next to him, to torment Bob to make him feel powerless before killing him.

Back to Casually Powerful Giant, and next time, be careful! You could easily shatter my skeleton even with a flick.
