Are the 20 years of seclusion helping you now?

  • The Nails of Seven Torments: They're literal nails shoved into a person's chest while they're fully conscious. Then they slowly destroy the person's senses, taking away their ability to speak, hear, smell and see, while their victim is still alive and aware of everything that's happening. Their victim has to live in agony for three years before finally dying.
    • In the concept book, it shows that the nails actually expand inside the person's body.
    • With this in mind, this makes Zhou Zishu pulling out the nails from his body in Episode 32 even worse.
  • While it may not have been Happy Ghost himself, whoever killed Ao Laizi and his disciples mimicked his way, which is by slicing their cheeks into a smile similar to Happy Ghost's facial scars.
  • The Soul Winding Threads of the Hanged Ghost tears through flesh easily, instantly killing someone as seen with Yu Tianjie.
  • The way Wen Kexing has ascended to the Ghost Valley throne, to sustain his position, he had skinned the upper torso of the former Ghost Valley Chief and announced his supremacy while throwing that skin to the Ghosts bellow, according to Impermanence Ghost, Wen Kexing had skinned him alive.
  • As Long Xiao threw himself in the pit of the Drugmen, he rings the bell so they can come and eat him, it's a harrowing death— let alone for a disabled child, and it doesn't help when his laugh turns into pain.
  • In order to let Wen Ruyu's family leave safely while also not harming the Healer Valley, Wen Ruyu's master has broken his tendons, traumatising Wen Kexing.
  • Downplayed in the Adaption, but the corpses of Wen Ruyu and Gu Miaomiao, where Wen Ruyu had bitten his tongue literally so he wouldn't say a word, and Gu Miaomiao who has been speared in the back.
    • In the novel, Gu Miaomaio was mangled beyond recognition, and the only thing Wen Kexing managed to recognise from her corpse were her shoulder blades.
  • Water of Lethe, if someone is reminded of their obsession, they start to crack down mentally and then reduced to a state of cognitive dysfunction.
  • When Wen Kexing uses the Eighteen Moves of Qiuming on Zhao Jing, some of the injures seen (Like the sword going through Zhao Jing's elbow) can be cringe inducing.
  • Wen Kexing slashing Mo Huaiyang's eyes, even if he had it coming.
