Nightmare Fuel / The Punisher: The End

• The End begins with Castle in Sing Sing after a horrific nuclear war, thanks to a fallout shelter beneath the prison. A year later Frank and another prisoner escape, heading to New York City through the irradiated wasteland. Past burning skies, assisted suicides (all gathered inside a school bus), the pitiful remains of a soup kitchen, all without any traces of life, not even rats or insects. As Frank points out, this isn't a video game or a movie, there is no surviving something like this. Everyone just dies. If they're lucky, they die as soon as the bombs drop.
  • There were originally other surviving prisoners in the shelter, but Frank killed them after they turned to cannibalism.
  • The last transmission from the bunker in Washington, heavily implied to be George W. Bush raping one of his cabinet members to death in a fit of madness.
  • Frank killing everyone in the New York bunker, not just the elites responsible for the apocalypse, but also the guards, the doctors, the scientists, everyone, leaving the frozen embryos to a certain death as well with no one to care for them. Frank doesn't care at this point, having grown completely disillusioned with humanity, and doesn't want the species to survive.
  • Frank kills the prisoner who left with him, revealing that he knows the man was a serial arsonist who accidentally caused the deaths of several children, before heading into the radioactive wasteland above, deluding himself that it's the 1970's again, and he's going to meet his family in Central Park...
