Nightmare Fuel / The Lunacy of Duke Venomania

• Venomania progressively kidnapping more and more women into his harem to keep his lust satisfied—he's undergoing a gradual Sanity Slippage throughout the whole novel, becoming more callous and cruel as time goes on.
• Venomania has to activate his powers through stabbing himself in the chest with the venom sword. And he's perfectly okay with this.
• What happens to Lolan Eve in the latter half of the novel. After spending a short while bedridden, Lukana just finds her dead in her room when bringing her breakfast. When she talks to Venomania about it the following night he casually reveals that the demon has been feeding on all of their life energy each time he has sex with them, and Lolan died because her spirit was already weak from being brainwashed into forgetting she's a lesbian. He tries to reassure Lukana that it won't happen to her because her spirit is stronger, but she realizes the clear implication that even a perfectly healthy woman could die by having sex with him if their spirit was weak enough, and this fact doesn't bother him at all.
• Much of the focus on other material, including the songs, is on Venomania's lusts and kidnapping. Less remarked upon are the brutal murders he commits to keep people from discovering his crimes, including slaughtering entire families. At one point while fighting Yufina's bodyguard he rips the man's arms off.
• Venomania is also one of the few sinners to regularly make use of his demonic transformations to hunt down victims or just kill them. He grows multiple wings and horns in classical demonic imagery.
  • Particular mention should go to his kidnapping of Gumina, wherein the only thing that looks remotely human on him is his face. He has Carol pin her arms behind her before brainwashing her, drooling from his demon fangs as he gets nearer. Utterly disturbing.
