Nightmare Fuel / Prophecies of Nostradamus

• The disaster scenes as a whole are pretty damn unsettling (especially one featuring the Fukushima nuclear plant going up in flames, which is far harder to watch in a post-Tohoku Earthquake world^note and which would have brought even more unneeded controversy to an already controversial film if the film hadn't been banned in its uncut form), but the destruction following the SST explosion is probably the worst of the lot.
• The New Guinea sequence with the radioactive zombies also qualifies.
• The highway explosion scene, coupled with shots of burning, screaming people leaping out of their cars and the implication that children are being caught in the explosion's path. This scene was popular enough to ultimately get reused as stock footage in The Return of Godzilla.
• The post-climactic fantasy sequence where two cancer-stricken mutant children fight over a piece of meat against the backdrop of the radioactive desert that was once Japan (pictured) was considered so horrific that it actually got the actual survivors of the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki involved, which lead to it being censored to this very day. In fact, the entire controversy with the scene and the survivors of the Atom Bombs actually led to Toho withdrawing the film's original theatrical cut from public circulation, outright banning it worldwide, all but ensuring that it'll never be shown again.
• The movie poster image in the Main Page, especially those eyes...
• The reflection of the city skyline in the sky; it's upside down, curved, and the sky is green. The Scare Chord used hardly helps.
• The Creepy Monotone voice reciting each prophecy.
