Nightmare Fuel / Power Star

• The last shot of part 1 shows Mario standing in the middle of the screen, being instructed in his mind to “Get the Star” as images of Luigi and the Power Star zoom behind him erratically before Mario himself starts getting distorted and has his face fill up 75% of the screen.

• A prime source of scares occurs during the final quarter, when Devil Mario explains to Luigi that the rest of the demon army is marching ever-closer to Mushroom City with the Power Stars in tow, reminding him that any attempts to fight back will be utterly pointless by the time they get there (Not to mention his downright frightening voice and the fact that he intends on destroying the entire universe after he absorbs the Stars' power).
