Ryo Takamisaki's MegaMan NT Warrior is often considered the darkest incarnation of the Battle Network series, and for good reason; with rather brutal fight scenes and Family-Unfriendly Deaths abound.
- In comparison to how WWW is introduced in the first game, NT Warrior makes it clear right from the beginning that the group pulls no punches, with their first shown attack being attempting to burn down an elementary school.
- The first thing we see when starting the manga is Dr. Wily simulating the nuking of a city.
- Lan and MegaMan's origin story sees Lan running away and nearly getting crushed in a container.
- Lan and MegaMan's relationship in this series, at least in the earlier issues is a lot more aggressive than other adaptations, with their bickering getting downright nasty at points. Becomes Heartwarming with their more friendly moments, as well as later issues.
