- The murder of Hillard by C.E. and the other Baldwin-Felts agents. Instead of just killing him for refusing to give up the names they want, one of the Mooks shoots around Hillard's head at point blank range, shriveling him in fear. C.E. then threatens to slash his neck if he doesn't give them five names. He ends up giving them four and hesitates on the fifth, leading C.E. to slash it anyway.
- What's worse is the perspective shots of Hillard's friend hiding just a few feet away, unable to intervene.
