"Symbol" is a short story, written sometime in April or May of 2014. It can be read fully here
. It's about an engineer named Slater who is test-driving a new time machine. He runs out of fuel, and crashes on a planet. Then, to make matters worse, he is airlifted by a giant meteorite spaceship and meets their leader. After this, he goes to some tunnelly-places and has adventures.
This story provides examples of:

- Shout-Out: Trishkun is called "Ravolox" at one point.
- The Man Behind the Man: Ilkau is more or less a puppet of Yreltiv.
