After enduring the loss of his first wife and fleeing from Boazan at the cost of his fellow hornless Boazanians who gave their lives for him, Hrothgar is touched by the kindness and compassion of Mary Ann when they meet and interact with each other on Earth, accepting her suggestion of taking the new identity as "Ned Armstrong" based from her late father Ned's name and her explanation of Armstrong surname due to how he shrugged off a bullet in the arm. They eventually marry and have three sons together: Steve, Big Bert and Little Jon.
Jamie Robinson and Dr. Richard Smith went out of their way to help Mark Gordon move on from his Dark and Troubled Past even though he tries to rebuke their attempts. With Dr. Smith going as far as to uncover the truth behind Mark's late mother's demise and Jamie giving Mark a photo album book of his parents. Mark Gordon is touched and thanks them.
Zardoz was shown kindness and compassion from Little Jon who helped him get medical help after stumbling upon him at the beach and stayed by his side (even though Zardoz faked being shipwrecked as "Manuel Nabuz" in order to infiltrate Camp Big Falcon personally), which somewhat touches him due to lack of love and care he had under Zambojil. He even reciprocates the handshake from Little Jon who explained about it to him.
It's subtle, but over the course of the invasion attempt on Earth, Zardoz has gone from invoking You Have Failed Me to his subordinates to being fully cooperative and looking inward whenever a plan or Beast Fighter doesn't work out.
Dr. Larry Hook refuses to let the belongings of the deceased Dr. Richard Hamaguchi Smith be cleared out. Because it will always be the office of his mentor.
Although Zardoz had Voltes Team lured into a trap via Zuhl, he allows Little Jon to be spared and sent back due to their brief friendship between them. Even if he denied the bonds they had together when the youngest Armstrong brother tried to appeal to his kinder self as "Manuel Nabuz".
Zardoz sacrifices his life to save Steve, being crushed under rubble, but manages to reconcile with his brothers and father. They even address him as "Kuya" (big brother), revealing that they forgive him even in spite of everything he had done to them.
