  • The first arc, Destined, sends Ms. Marvel and her parents on a Planetary Romance adventure on the alien world of Saffa. In that time, Kamala befriends an alien prince and helps him make amends with his father, while she learns to do the same with her own Abu, who's having trouble coming to terms with his daughter's double life.
• Issue #6
  • After learning that her dad is terminally ill, Ms. Marvel reaches out to Iron Man. He arrives right after she defeats Deathbringer, gyros in hand, and gives her the best advice he can give: don't make the same mistakes he did. The Khan family has precious time left together, and he advises Kamala to make the most of every minute. Not to mention the big hug Iron Man gives Kamala.
• Issue #7
  • Baby Malik! Kamala fawns over her nephew as he plays with her hair and she's beaming with pride as he tries to figure out how to walk.
  • Zoe offering to help Kamala out of her funk by taking her and Nakia on a road trip around New Jersey. Sure, it gets derailed by zombies, but for a few short hours, Kamala is at the happiest she's been in months since before she learned about her father's condition.
• Issue #9
  • Ever Ms. Marvel's loyal sidekick, Bruno stands by Kamala after her father's condition worsens and he's sent to the hospital. It all culminates in her giving him The Big Damn Kiss that's five real-world years, three volumes, and two creative teams in the making.
  • Also pretty comical, but Tony Stark (a bit too loudly) voicing his support for Kamala and Bruno's fledgling romance:
    Iron Man: Oh by the way, that Bruno's a very handsome young man! Could use a haircut, maybe, but as long as he's respectful to you and he makes you happy —
    Kamala: WHAT?! We're not — I mean, we don't —
    Iron Man: (flying away) Uh-huh. Take it from Uncle Iron Man, kiddo, lying to yourself isn't worth it. When life hands you lemonade, grab a glass!
    Bruno: Uh, he knows I'm standing right here, right?
