Heartwarming / Tales from the Cryptkeeper

Go To

  • The ending of "Sleeping Beauty", where Melvin finally got a kiss from the real sleeping beauty (the other one was a vampire). Looks like he IS the real prince charming after all!
  • "Cold Blood, Warm Hearts" tells the story of a man and a woman investigating two different monsters in two different lakes. Turns out they're the lake monsters, each hoping they weren't the only one of their kind, and in the end, they happily swim off to start their new life together.
  • In "All the Gory Details", Sally decides not to expose Dr. Cromwell's creations. Researching Dr. Cromwell took up a great deal of her career, yet she recognizes that it would be dishonorable to compromise these peaceful creatures' existence to the world.
  • The ending of "The Weeping Woman" is this mixed with Tear Jerker.
  • Even though "Hunted" is more scary than heartwarming, the Beast-turned-Man tells the Hunter-turned-Beast that he didn't take the animals he captured: he freed them. Given he himself used to be a heartless and greedy hunter, it speaks volumes of how much off-screen Character Development this man went through while under the curse. What's more, he has faith that perhaps, the Hunter's time as a Beast will teach him to respect nature as well.
    • What's more, there's also how the Beast tells his tells his backstory to the Hunter. Once, he used to be a hunter who shared the same greedy mindset as all hunters. But one day, during a hunting accident that left him wounded, a local shaman came and healed him using medicine derived from the forest. Although the medicine is what cursed him, he does not begrudge the shaman for the curse in the first place. In fact, when he voices how the shaman saved him, there's such a respectful tone that recognizes that life as a beast is still preferable to dying.
  • "Pleasant Screams" has the Crypt Keeper at his most innocuous — dressed in his pajamas and night cap, rifling through the fridge for a midnight snack because he can't fall asleep. The night's story does the trick, and ends to reveal him slumped over the book, sound asleep and snoring peacefully. N'awwww.
  • The fates of Enoch and Myrna. In the live-action series, they died together in each other's arms with baby Crypt Keeper just yards away, and simply telling their story causes him to break down in tears. Here, they're apparently as fine as a two-faced man and a 4000 year old mummy can be, and send their son a birthday card.
  • "So Very Attractive": Julia uses a special cream to make herself more attractive and naturally gets more than she bargained for. Before things get really crazy, she enjoys newfound popularity with everyone at school, but her friend Marty doesn't seem to notice any difference.
Julia: Yesterday, when everyone was seeing me differently, you treated me just the same. How come?
Marty: That's easy. I always see you that way.
    [beat, as both smile]
  • "Growing Pains":
    • Wendell immediately hits it off with Rose, due to their similar interests and hobbies. The Reveal that she and her family are members of a Plant Person species doesn't faze him in the slightest.
Wendell: [smiling widely] Wow! Is this great or what?
    • The family invites Wendell to dinner to fully explain the situation to him.
Rose: I told you I had a weird family.
      Wendell: Weird? No. Different? Yes.
