Heartwarming / Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur

Go To

  • The girls work pretty hard to find a safe place for Shaggy to do something fun after they find out about Shaggy's condition, and when Daphne digs up information on La Serena Spa, Fred encourages Shaggy to make the trip, saying that it'll be like old times, but less scary.
  • While Dr. Hubley is trying to bring Shaggy out of his Angst Coma with aromatherapy, Scooby pulls out a box of Scooby Snacks. Velma snappishly asks him if he ever thinks of anything besides food, only for Scooby to drop one of the Scooby Snacks into the aromatherapy bowl. Velma immediately apologizes for doubting him.
  • Velma is miffed at Windsor for being involved in the Phantosaur attacks, and for not telling her he was genuinely interested before they got into a life-or-death situation. However, when he gets arrested, she interrupts:
Velma: Do you think we can go out again? You know, after you get out of jail?
    Winsor: Consider it a date.
  • Daphne snarks about the lovestruck Velma not being any help and Fred tells her to be gentle and asks her if she's ever had a crush on someone. Daphne stutteringly says no and immediately, vehemently drops the topic. It's pretty obvious what's going on here.
  • When Velma freezes up and gets trapped on a stalactite sinking into a snake pit, Fred tells her they'll find a way to get her out. Shaggy immediately does so, even having a Take My Hand! moment when Velma can't quite make the jump.
  • Daphne accidentally turns Shaggy back to normal in the middle of his action-hero plan to get them out of the caves, leaving him clinging to a rock, terrified. Fred convinces him that he's capable of jumping to the ledge without hypnosis, being fairly gentle and encouraging despite the dire circumstances.
Fred: I don't know much about hypnosis, Shaggy, but I know one thing. It cannot make you do things you couldn't do without it. All that stuff you did when you were brave, that was you. It's inside of you. You just have to let it out.
  • Brave Shaggy saving Tex's life. You think a guy without fear might just let the guy drop, but the movie goes out of its way to show that Brave Shaggy and Cowardly Shaggy really are the same person with just a different mentality. Even when under hypnosis, Shaggy is the Nice Guy.
  • When the doctor notices Scooby and says dogs aren't allowed, Daphne says that Scooby is a certified medical rescue dog, and pulls out a license to prove it. It's an obvious forgery, but they know that Shaggy would want Scooby there... so the gang have created a fake license to let him be there. When they tell him, the doctor agrees to overlook the violation as long as Scooby doesn't cause trouble or break anything.
