Heartwarming / Nerd & Jock

Go To

In all honesty, the entire comic seems to run on this trope, but here's a few notable moments:

  • In comic #10, Nerd is going sledding and Jock comments that he's too old for that. Nerd confusedly asks what age has to do with it, stumping Jock for a panel before he decides that he's coming too.
  • In comic #71, Jock is suffering from some low self-esteem, so Nerd dresses up like a wizard and casts a "spell" to make him the "coolest guy in town". When nothing happens, Nerd just says that it had no effect because Jock was already the coolest.
  • In comic #95, Jock refuses to make a wish on his birthday candles because he already has everything he could wish for in his friends.
  • In comic #117, Olga summons a demon to ask him which dress she should wear for her date with Jock. The demon is ecstatic for her finally getting a date with her crush.
  • After many hilarious mishaps and literal Eldritch Abomination trying to ruin the date, the kiss Jock gives to Olga on comic #133 is so wonderful and cute.
  • In comic #168, Nerd allows Jock's sleep paralysis demon to sleep in his bed after she got kicked out.
  • In comic #182, Nerd believes he'll have to fight Tiger "beast versus beast". While Olga imagines a kitten going up against a full-grown tiger, Jock imagines a kaiju battle between a monstrous Tiger and a giant Nerd mech outfitted with various weapons.
  • In comic #186, When Olga and Jock learn that Tiger does indeed like Nerd after she kisses him, Olga is more shocked than Jock. When she questions why, Jock simply states that Nerd is "quite the catch".
  • In Comic #201, their second outing to the beach, this time joined by Tiger. Tiger showing off her beach outfit all but flusters Nerd and her alike, showing their common traits. Olga and Jock, for their part, are playing each other's wingmen as they want them to get together.
  • In Comic #214, After Tiger's "Gogo BaniBuni" wallet falls out, she internally screams as she thinks Nerd will think less of her, come to her pleasant surprise, he too shares an interest in them, even specifying she has the 60's version, while he has the 80's Space Bun version. This just enforces Tiger's thought how they have even more in common now.
  • In Comic #219, When the local gang comes in to try and end the "Unholy Union" of Nerd and Tiger, Jock and Olga come flying in. Nerd expects him to protect him as usual, but Jock is more interested in the sausage stand then anything else. When Nerd ask him if he's going to protect him, Jock responds that Tiger is with him, so he'll be fine, showing that he completely trust Tiger with Nerd's safety, which speaks a lot.
  • In Comic #221, when Tiger goes to defend not only Nerd, but Jock and Olga as well, she says not to hurt "Her" Nerd. Jock makes it a point to repeat this to Nerd, who looks completely touched.
  • In comic #237, a guy at the gym tries and fails to impress Tiger with his muscles (being vastly outmatched by her and Nerd). Jock reassures him that everyone progresses at their own pace and invites him to a group flex.
  • Comic #238 suggests that Nerd and Jock will be best friends for their entire lives, even being buried next to each other after they die. Their graves also have flowers growing out of them that have the distinctive hair colors of their respective girlfriends, so the whole gang is Together in Death in a way.
  • Comic #247 has Queen distract the gang by telling them to look behind them. Cue Jock, Tiger, and Olga looking at the viewer.
Jock: Hey! There's nothing weird here! Only this cute person looking at us!
