Heartwarming / My Friendly Neighborhood

Per wiki Spoiler Policy all spoilers on a moments page are unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

This may be a horror game, but the neighborhood can still be friendly again if the right choices are made.

  • Gordon helping the puppets. He may have lost some of himself in the war, but he clearly hasn't lost humanity, and it seems to restore some humanity in the puppets as well.
    • Finding Pearl her glasses. Gordon later finds her staring at her reflection in her mirror and pets her while chatting with her.
    • Feeding the dogs so they go from vicious mutts to friendly pups.
    • Showing Ray how to properly fix things by fixing the studio plumbing proper instead of whacking it with a wrench. Also counts as Psychological Projection as Gordon is also confronting his own tendencies to hit first, ask questions later.
    • Showing Goblette a sad movie in the theater. Gordon sits down with her and talks about how this moment in a film he saw as a kid made him cry. This helps Goblette process her emotions.
    • Sitting down (albeit forced to do so) with Arnold for a brief piano duet.
  • Ricky still having faith in his fellow puppets, defending them whenever Gordon mocks or threatens them. They may not be "at the top of their game", but Ricky cares for them all the same. It's the reason why Ricky reconnects the antenna, hoping that the show's goodness can overpower the darkness of the world.
    • While their relationship fluctuates throughout the game, Ricky also cares for Gordon. When the latter is hit by lightning and falls down into the Unfriendly Neighborhood, Ricky is screaming his name and sounds relieved when he gets ahold of Gordon later on the telephone.
  • The final note found right after escaping the Unfriendly Neighborhood is an address from the show's creator to the audience, telling them that goodness still exists, even in the darkness of the world around them.
  • The Golden Ending. If Gordon manages to help everyone and agrees to help run the studio, this leads to The Friendly Neighborhood show airing on public broadcast at night. Soon enough, more networks want to show it and plenty of people are watching it again. Gordon loses his job, but he feels like he found a place to fit in. Looks like the city is seeing some light again, after all.
