    Vella's Alternate Selves
  • So, Essentia 2000 says that she, Vella and Sammy/Semi are alternate reality versions of each other. This turns out to be a lie, and Essentia is technically part of an alternate Alex. So, how did Vella end up in Alex's universe, since you can only switch places with an alternate self? Are Sammy and Vella each other's opposite selves? If not, then how did either one end up in Alex’s universe?
  • Also, if the Essentia 2000 is not Vella's alternate self, how far did the lie go? Are all of the people in Essentia's mind alternate Vellas, or was that a lie, too? If it is, then who are they and why are they significant enough for Essentia to keep around?
    • It was probably a lie to get Alex invested in her plight, being part of the Proto-Alex and all. She wanted the playable Alex to actually do something about her fate of being connected to the Proto-Alex, but was confined to wherever that was.
    Claudio and Chondra’s Missing Brother
  • Claudio younger brother, who is Chondra’s twin, goes missing when the younger siblings are four. When we get to see him on an island of stranded alternate Alexes, we see that he’s… still a child. Does time not pass in the Soul Space? All of the other Alexes are adults like our Alex, which implies that all of the alternate universes are all running on the same pace of time, so him being so young doesn’t make any sense.
    • For that matter, how did their brother go missing anyways? Considering that Chondra and Claudio meet Alex because their universes merged together, and their brother disappeared so long ago, it’s implied that their brother went missing in a way entirely unrelated to the events in the game. So how did their brother end up in the Soul Space in the first place?
    • It's possible that was the age he was when he died and/or when his reality was destroyed.
     Essentia’s Dilemma
  • It’s revealed that Essentia isn’t an alternate Vella at all, but is instead connected to Proto Alex’s soul, and wants regular Alex to sever the connection so she can gain control. But… why does she need to do that? From what we can see, she has the ability to travel around the multiverse whenever she chooses, has no restrictions on what she can do, and Proto Alex never shows anything more than annoyance when he mentions that Essentia wants to kill him, implying that, while he’s as irritating as any other Alex, his presence isn’t super debilitating for her. What would she even gain from getting rid of Proto Alex anyways? Is she motivated by greed, or is Proto Alex just so irritating that she just wants to be done with him forever?
