Funny / The Amazing Spider-Luz in: Across the Owl-Verse!

Go To

  • Lilith getting chewed out by Bump for cheating is hilarious. Then, when Eda and Luz are talking as they leave, Eda casually drops the bomb that she and Lilith are sisters, much to Luz's shock.
  • Apparently Luz's brain just shut down in self-defense when Eda tried to explain Hooty to her. King is jealous.
  • Gus apparently asked Luz if humans had gills 17 times. Camila is reminded of Luz herself when she was two or three.
  • At one point during a conversation with Eda, Camila can't help but express how concerned she is about Luz's safety after hearing about some of the dangers of the Boiling Isles. Eda, having in turn heard about the dangers of the Marvel Universe from Luz, can't help but give this reply.
Eda: "The Isles are more dangerous than a world that, according to Luz, regularly gets invaded by aliens or robots or robot aliens?"
  • When Luz learns that Belos made sure that all the Basilisks were female, and unable to even take on male forms with their abilities, Luz briefly wonders if Belos was trying to make a Basilisk harem. Viney has to quickly change the subject before Zee gets too curious about what a "harem" is.
  • Suletta being amazed at seeing paperclips of all things warrants a giggle.
  • When Alex starts gushing over Masha's new muscles from the latter's training at Avengers Academy, Masha notes that Alex looks at pictures of bodybuilders when she thinks that no one's looking, prompting Alex to retort that Masha looks up Cute Monster Girl images. Their mutual friend Mark luckily intervenes, lampshading how they're basically shouting their fetishes out loud.
  • Lilith's dumbfounded reaction to Belos coming to the conclusion that Luz is Eda's half-human biological daughter.
  • In the aftermath of Ingrimaxus' defeat and the gathering of Luz and her friends in the Human Realm to tell Camila and Vee about what happened, Amity is noted to be rather smug during the whole thing. When Eda asks why, she reveals that she knew Luz was involved in bringing the dragon down the moment she heard the news of its death, but Edric and Emira bet 20 snails each because they didn't believe it.
  • When Luz gets dressed in her new dragon-scale superhero costume, Amity is noted to be Eating the Eye Candy upon seeing Luz garbed in the skintight outfit.
  • When Amity has some punch at Grom, she finds that it's been spiked. When she gives Boscha a look, she says that she didn't do it... this time.
  • When Eda talks about how Luz has been regularly crawling on the walls and ceilings of the Owl House, Hooty interjects and says that he enjoys the sensation, feeling like it's a massage to his insides.
Luz: (shaken) "I will now be walking on nothing but solid ground."
  • While Amity is showing off using her Abomination magic and Sorcery, she's startled by Doctor Strange, causing her to lose control of both spells and accidentally send Eda's Grudgeby ball into "some icy Hell dimension", to the annoyance of the Owl Lady.
  • When Amity is learning how to astral project herself, she muses that she could have shaved a day off the time it took to learn the spell if one of her attempts hadn't accidentally sent her into Edric's room, where she saw his morning routine of flexing in his underwear while looking at himself in the mirror.
  • When looking through Eda's memory, Luz's internal monologue keeps getting distracted by how young Eda is and considering various nicknames for Teen Eda.
  • When Luz and Amity see the eye on the portal door in Eda's memory seemingly look right at them and are unnerved, Inner Eda interrupts and asks if they're "done having a nervous breakdown inside [her] brain,”
