Funny / Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer

Go To

  • The Fight Scene Failure of an opening intro, depicting the X Slayers sparring against each other. This is the perfect way to let you know what you can expect from this game.
    • Zane leaps back and shoots his guns at Mikey, but the actual jump isn't shown so it just looks like he's suddenly flying back in mid-air while shooting.
    • Mikey's animation for slicing apart Zane's bullets involves him waving his S Blade arm really fast with nothing else on his body moving to sell the weight behind the slashes.
    • Steffanie is shown punching and kicking, and her roundhouse kick awkwardly tweens into a backward-facing stance as if the animator gave up at the end. Also, she's not actually hitting anything and the main fight is between Zane and Mikey, so it comes entirely out of left field and isn't acknowledged at all after.
    • Zane drops his guns to prepare a Ki Attack, but the exaggerated expression accompanying it and the scream he lets out while charging it look more fitting as anguished pain.
  • Steffanie's voice actress in-universe is Zane's ex-girlfriend, taking the role because Zane called in a favor. It's clear she doesn't even give half a damn about the role, with a consistently unimpressed tone and absolutely zero care given to inflection.
  • When Mikey is dying, the cutscene that ensues has a shot where it's viewing him from the back — and to indicate he's the one speaking, he does a very undignified Head Bob while still dying.
  • Also, Zane's hyper-casual reaction to Mikey giving up his signature S-Blade with his dying breath.
    "Cool! Thanks, man."
  • If you're struggling with the puzzle to unlock the way forward in Mevin's house, don't worry: the doors unlocked by the switches are covered with blunt hints like "check near the bongs. stupid" written on them.
  • When infiltrating the underground Psyko base beneath Melvin's house, one of Steffanie's dialogue lines is "They have wolf DNA... and they are injecting me with it!!!" Between the liberal Artistic License – Biology employed and voice actor Tasch Ritter's incredibly dry delivery, it's hilarious.
  • One of the cells in the aforementioned Psyko base is for "Fido", indicated to be a dog; there's a doghouse in the cell, a patch of dirt for digging in, a bag of dry dog food, and a food bowl with pieces of dog food arranged to spell "help" in it. A background detail found in an area after beating Steffanie subverts this assumption, with a doodle revealing Fido to be a human, who the Psykos were treating like a dog for no apparent reason.
  • After Zane gets the Slayer Talismen and leaves cyberspace, Mikey gives him one last guidance before his spirit can go on: "Go to the Boise Potato Festival!" It's such a specific setting to reference for where the Psykos are centralizing their power, it's impossible to take it seriously whatsoever.
  • On the way to the Boise Potato Festival, you tear through a trailer park occupied by Psykos... and a house inexplicably populated by clones of Gumshoe Gooper that can be gunned down just as mercilessly as the Psykos.
  • On Twitter, "Zane" sent Nitro Rad an invitation to play this game and make a video about it, ending that message with "if not... i won't cry but i will be depressed. & i will get with your mom". Since James isn't on Twitter much, he didn't get an immediate response and sent a follow up message some hours later, "jk i won't get with your mom...........", which James found reasonable enough that he made a video.
