• In episode 8, Gouki tells the rest of the team that Hikaru (who lost his mother when he was very young) has inadvertently found a surrogate mother in a local chef that he's befriended. The team tries to offer him encouragement. Emphasize on tries.
  Ryouma: Hikaru. Don't force yourself.
  Saya: We know what it's like to want to be doted on by your mother.
  Hayate: (Beat) Snrrrrrrk.
• Episode 15's Monster of the Week, Kemuemon, is simply hilarious thanks to his Large Ham persona. In his first scene, he strikes a Kabuki hop, only to hop too much and fly off the edge of a building. Or preparing an attack, throwing hot coal...only to throw it straight up, and landing right on his urchin shaped head.
• In one episode, current commander Iliess is looking through the keyhole of a door into the room containing the bounty she desired. She caresses the door in her desire for it...until she notices her fellow Balban looking at her, as the background music cuts.
