Tom Taylor is having a lot of fun with Dick and Babs.

  • In #79, they go out to have some dinner at "Marv & George's Pizza":
    Dick: Two slices, please.
    Babs: Seriously?
    Dick: What?
    Babs: You're a billionaire now.
Dick: Oh, right. Four slices, please.
  • Then, after buying pizza for a ton of people, Dick realizes that some kids stole his wallet:
Dick: I think those kids took my wallet.
    Babs: Wow.
Dick: Never tell Batman about this.
Babs: Too late. I've already put it in the group chat.
Phone SFX: Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
Babs: You might want to put that on silent. Cass has no self-control when it comes to emojis.
    • The mere image of Cassandra Cain using emojis is hilarious.
      • In issue 83, we're shown that she's not kidding at ALL.
    • It gets brought up in the very next issue with Tim giving Dick a present: a wallet chain. From Bruce.
Nightwing: I'm never living this down, am I?
      Robin: Of course not.
  • In Issue #89, we find out that Batman tends to keep lollipops for scared kids in his utility belt. Bad thing is, it's right beside his smoke bomb compartment, so Superman muses that he might end up giving a kid a smoke bomb by accident or throw down a lollipop trying to escape the Joker and wonders what possibility frightens him more. Batman grumbles that he'll move the lollipops.
  • In Issue #90, Barbara gets Stuffed into the Fridge... wait no, let's elaborate; she gets abducted by some mooks and thrown into a refrigerated van, leading to her saying:
Babs: Nightwing, they're after you. They fridged me to get to you.
  • In issue #96, Blockbuster is begging for help from Electrocutioner and Brutale, only to find out they learned that he was responsible for one of the worst prisons in the country they were stuck in and decide to Screw This, I'm Outta Here. Brutale driving away as Electrocutioner is Flipping the Bird, shouting profanities all covered with a parody of the Comics Code Authority logo.
  • After the brutality and uncertainties of the previous stories, issue #98 cranks up the hilarity with the introduction of Nite-Mite.
    • Upon meeting Barbara, Nite-Mite declares that he ships Dick with Starfire to her face, leading Barbara to let out an indignant "Excuse me?!"
    • Nite-Mite decides the best thing to do is to marry off the two, not only dressing them in wedding clothes, but bringing in the Bat-Family, the Titans, Wally West and both Supermen, all of them looking either annoyed or absolutely bewildered.
  • In Issue #105, Nightwing confronts Lyle Shelton, who keeps addressing him as Mr. Wing
Dick: Nightwing is one word. So, it's not "Mr. Wing." It would be like me calling you "Mr. Hole."
