Go To

This movie proves that while the jokes might be dead, but the laughs are still alive when the Muppets take the stage.

  • Kermit and Piggy dressing as each other at the costume party. Judging by Piggy’s enthusiasm and Kermit’s lack thereof, it’s easy to guess whose idea it was…
  • Shortly after, Scooter tells Kermit that the Swedish Chef is about to start carving pumpkins. Cue a Muppet pumpkin running through the party, fleeing a chainsaw-wielding Chef. Kermit then tells Gonzo they’ll likely be having pumpkin pancakes for breakfast. At the end of the special, Kermit asks Gonzo and Pepe if they're coming over for breakfast.
Muppet Pumpkin: (Being chased by the Chef) Mercy!
  • The Running Gag of the mummy and skeleton popping out to go "Dun-dun-dun!", often killing whatever tone the Ghost Host is trying to set up.
  • At one point, Gonzo passes two busts in Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker's likeness. Bunsen laments that this is their biggest scene.
  • While talking to Madam Pigota, Gonzo asks if she can contact people in the great beyond. She admits that she can't, because the Wi-fi is dead.
    • She then goes on a rant about how this is her biggest scene in the special, and she got her head stuck in a fishbowl.
  • During "Life Hereafter" Statler and Waldorf's doom buggy breaks down, just like it does at the actual ride!
  • After the song, Gonzo asks Ghost!Kermit how he died. Ghost!Kermit just says, "I croaked." Then Pepe asks Hatbox Ghost!Fozzie, who responds, "I'm dead?" Keep in mind that Fozzie is the special’s version of the Hatbox Ghost.
  • As Pepe tells Kermit how he was almost tricked into marriage, Kermit’s response is a sympathetic “Been there, done that.”
