• When Preacher's Kid Strap is inserted into the Regional Finals he remains, as always, kneeling to finish his prayer. Coach sides up to him and tells him, "God wants you on the floor."
• The brick joke in the Regional Finals. During a time out, Coach tells Buddy to stick "like gum" with his man on defense, "By the end of the game I want to know what flavor he is." When Buddy later fouls out of the game, Coach gives him an inquisitive look. Buddy merely replies, "He was Dentyne."
