• After having her ass handed to her at Port Cumana (Mission 8), Ivanovna disguised herself as a civilian and met Darril, Renges and Chaeffer at a local bar in an attempt to probe them. Then they had the following exchange:
  Ivanovna (in disguise): Nice jumpsuits. What do you guys do?
  Chaeffer: We're U--
  Darril: UFOs!
  Ivanovna: UFOs...?
  Darril: Yeah. We... we're UFO hunters. There's been a lot of sightings around here lately. These jumpsuits are... our uniforms. Like 'em?
  Ivanovna: Looking for UFOs in this warzone? You guys are braver than I thought. Sounds like fun, though. Are you going to look for your little flying saucers tonight?
  Chaeffer: Huh? Y-Yeah, we are. Tonight. UFOs.
  • Also, notice that Renges didn't participate in this exchange. Maybe he's too busy doing facepalms.
• Here's another little gem : After forcing the Zaftrans to retreat from Venezuela and making Governor Diaz abdicate his position to the Venezuelan Freedom Alliance (Mission 26), Darril and his friends decided to go back to Cumana to reach the transport that Elsa arranged for them. Unfortunately, they had less than an hour before the transport arrived and the time it took to travel between Cumana and Caracas was two hours. Darril came up with the brilliant idea to do what the Zaftrans did earlier - use the Cargorail. Guess how that turned out?
  Chaeffer: Urk... Is that you, Mom?
  Ines: I... I feel sick...
  Thammond: Well... Phooey. I— I thought... I'd... I thought I'd have... a stroke...
• The Durandal were more serious than the La Alianza, but they still had some moments...
  Frederick: All right, all right, I'm leaving. For today, at least. See you around, li'l miss secretary!
  Elsa: Wait! I'm not a—
  Zead (smiled): Come on, li'l miss secretary, we're leaving.
  Elsa: Zead!!!
