One of the biggest Katryn point events requires you to explore somewhere that Laurie specifically asks you not to and that you have no reason to go into. While going into a bar in the middle of a chase scene is a huge Violation of Common Sense, and the plot connection that you discover there is completely coincidental, Katryn's ideal mate is the proactive type who doesn't passively accept the rules of a situation when they're given to him, but instead changes the game in his favor.
