    Fridge Brilliance
  • New Himuka's atrocities primarily involve turning humans into monsters, whether physically or mentally. The former involves metamorphosing humans into Others, while the latter involves personality rehabilitation into serving the corrupt government. Naomi and Nagi are the unfortunate victims of these processes respectively.
  • Having Yuito and Kasane becoming Platonic Life-Partners instead of getting into a romance cleverly shoots down not one, but two instances of incest subtext. The first instance is Brother–Sister Incest as Wakana was Yuito's mother and Kasane's foster mother, making the two siblings - something which Yuito points out in-universe by noting that Kasane would be his elder sister by a technicality. The other instance is Parental Incest, as Kasane and Wakana are both Design Children of the same template and as such are genetically similar akin to being twin sisters, which would then make Kasane and Yuito genetically mother and son.
    • Yuito genetically being Kasane's son could also be implied as partially the reason why both of them share the exact same psychokinetic abilities, including the subsequent revelation both can manipulate the Red Strings, as he would have likely inherited it from her.
  • Karen's metamorphosis into an Other in the second phase of his fight is followed by the final phase of his fight where his human self attacks Yuito/Kasane once again. This shows that yes, it is indeed possible to reverse Other metamorphosis, although Karen's Other form was different from Naomi's or Alice's in the sense that he still had his human body intact.
  • On Kasane's route, some of the gifts you can give Kyoka revolve around neurology; namely a brain map and neurology essays. This serves as foreshadowing that she's actually a Design Child whose model is based on Hitoyo Pope, a renowned neurologist.
  • The Power of Friendship is invoked through the the SAS mechanic, particularly in the human phases of Karen's boss battle at the end of the game where they act as a powerful foil to Karen. Although Karen is capable of copying any other Psionic's power, he appears to only be able to have one active at a time as he's never shown using two simultaneously. You also only encounter him alone, so he has no one else to connect with via SAS. By the end of the game, the party's bonds have grown much stronger and Kasane/Yuito have grown strong enough to be able to have multiple SAS connections active at once, which gives them the edge in the fight.

    Fridge Horror
  • At the beginning of the game, Yuito, Nagi, Kasane and Naomi all grab a fortune from Baki. All but Naomi get a bad fortune, but she trades hers for Kasane's. Later on, Naomi is turned into an Other and Nagi becomes Brainwashed and Crazy and Yuito and Kasane are left with the emotional scars to deal with it all. It's also fridge brilliance, with Naomi trading Kasane her good fortune foreshadowing Naomi taking the metamorphosis bullet for Kasane.
  • At the end of Yuito's route, it's revealed that Kaito was ousted from his chairman position after the Sumeragi line's misdeeds were exposed. While this is a nice End of an Age for Sumeragi's corrupt chairmen, it doesn't exclude the possibility that the next chairman might be just as bad or even worse.
    • There's some comfort to be found in the fact that the people of New Himuka are much more aware and attentive going forward, though. Instead of simply accepting things, they'll likely be more inclined to keep an eye on things, and ensure a repeat of the past doesn't happen again. Plus, going forward, there's the Kasane and Yuito platoons involved, and very able to help ensure that the next Chairman is someone good (Fubuki, for example)
