Fridge Brilliance

  • So, the PJ Masks, when they transform, have animal-themed powers and costumes, and even act like animals sometimes. Is it possible that the transformation affects their brains? Plus, their personality gets slightly altered too when in this state, so those little bolts of electricity that cause them to transform might very well be altering their brains too!
    • It likely also helps them learn how to drive their vehicles despite being 6.
  • The Owl-Glider can fly, while the Gekko-mobile is effectively a tank that can go underwater (although it can't shoot). So why do they use the Cat-Car just as often as the others? Maybe whatever magical/mystical thing they run on is limited and thus they cannot use any one vehicle as their default mode of transportation.
  • Why are the PJ Masks fighting kid villains? Because adult villains would mop the floor with them.
  • The Ninjalinos' gibberish is probably caused by their masks, allowing what they are saying to remain anonymous.
    • Ehh, it's kinda likely this is true, but if it is, why does Night Ninja's mask not also muffle his voice?
      • He's probably too egotistical to not be understood
      • Jossed; in Master Fang's Secret, Night Ninja explicitely refers to his Ninjalinos' gibberish as "Ninjalino-ese". And a minor plot point in this episode is that the ninja travel spell that Night Ninja intends to use on the heroes fails to work properly if the Ninjalinos say it in their language, thus forcing Night Ninja to say it himself. So the Ninjalinos actually speak their own language, and it's not just their masks muffling their voices.
      • The two theories don't don't cancel each other out.
  • Why does Amaya no longer need her glasses as Owlette? Well, one of her superpowers is enhanced vision (super owl eyes).

Fridge Horror

  • It's implied that nobody knows of the PJ Masks' secret identities (aside from Romeo) or that they even exist (aside from the villains, of course) and we also see them sneaking out at night. How come their parents never notice this? Imagine if you were the parent of one of the PJ Masks, who you just want to love and keep safe, and you had no idea that secretly they're sneaking out of the house at night and fighting villains that have fancy weapons that your child might have felt the wrath of. Yeah... let that sink in. Keep in mind that the PJ Masks are at least six years old.
    • Also, what if one of the parents suddenly wakes up and wants to check up on them only to find the bed's empty?
    • Or finds someone else in the child's bed. An episode features Luna Girl randomly choosing Owlette's bedroom to burglarize, and Luna rests for a while in (the missing) Owlette's bed.
    • A different episode, referenced below, features Greg and Amaya being kidnapped in their civilian IDs and having to be rescued. That is terrifying especially if you have the kind of brain that runs into thinking about a similar scenario with adult or even teen villains who the pair would have had even less luck with fighting or escaping without access to their powers or even with said powers.
  • There's quite a couple of hints that An Yu's backstory may be quite tragic. Every time you hear her fail a task she will say something along the lines of "I have failed... again." And there's no sign of any other person on Mystery Mountain besides her. What did she fail at? Did it come at a cost of her being sealed in the Dragon's Gong? Or worse, the death of other Mystery Mountain inhabitants?
  • Speaking of An Yu, her situation is quite horrifying when you think about it. Tied to a gong that can seal you away, effectively trapping you in an And I Must Scream situation, only allowed out whenever someone rings your gong with no means of communication. Plus, she's a kid. A kid!

Fridge Logic

  • Am I allowed to ask... WHO ARE THE VILLAINS' PARENTS AND HOW DO THEY NOT KNOW OF THEIR SHENANIGANS?!
    • Maybe their parents are villains too, who are busy fighting adult superheroes elsewhere.
      • Or like the PJ Masks' parents they are unaware that their children are villains.
      • Or the entire series is just a big game being played by the neighborhood kids, and we're seeing their elaborate imaginations.
  • If Romeo is the only one who supposedly knows the PJ Masks' secret identities, then how was Luna Girl able to send Connor (Catboy's alter ego) a "gift" under a fake relative's name?
    • Maybe their identities were never secret and everyone knows who's behind the masks. Connor, Greg and Amaya have discussed their superhero stuff out in public during day in a few episodes.
    • An episode had Romeo abducting Owlette and Gekko at daytime, when they were in their civilian identities and without their powers. He somehow completely omitted tracking down Catboy and waited for the hero to come to him. Romeo seems to express more familiarity with how the other two heroes look without their masks, but he acts as relatively unfamiliar with Catboy.
      • Romeo could have been faking his confusion to mess with Catboy but got Hoist by His Own Petard when his confidence in his ability to beat the feline hero when the latter had no back up tripped him up royally.
  • Why do we never see anyone aside from the heroes and the villains during the night scenes, not even in the background? Night time or not, you would expect there would be at least some people out in the streets getting caught up in the fights.
    • Even more curious: one of Romeo's less ingenious plans had him driving around the town at nighttime and shouting with loudspeakers. Nobody seems to wake up or react to him other than the heroes. The entire town seems deserted.
  • Why does Romeo never undertake his evil schemes during the day, when his night-powered adversaries are essentially powerless?
    • Because the one time he did do something like this, kidnapping Owlette and Gekko as Amaya and Greg, backfired horribly and Never Recycle Your Schemes seems to be in play.
    • Maybe the reason why there's seemingly no one out at night ever is because of the villains. If the villains only came out at night time, would you ever wanna go out when they're up and out as well? Alternatively there are some laws put in place or maybe the authorities warn people about staying up at night, as that's the mutually agreed upon time for heroes and villains to do their thing. Sort of like a Fictional Geneva Conventions.
  • How does the Cat Car get back in HQ after a mission? Catboy's section of HQ is not on ground level, and the car can't fly or jump (at least as far as we know).
    • It can jump. For example, it's shown in "The Wolfy Kids".
      • Seems you're right. PJ Robot Malfunction shows the Catcar jumping back into it's section of HQ.
  • The heroes and villains constantly use their vehicles to fly through the air, rush through the streets, and even climb on the buildings at top velocity and are incredibly noisy while doing so. And not to mention, some of the lights are "on" in these buildings! How does nobody notice the heroes and villains duking it out? Especially Romeo with the times he's built things that everyone in town should notice!
    • Well, if you heard such noises and are aware that there are such people crawling about at night, would you wanna take a peek and get caught up in whatever they're doing?
  • Why do we never see any of the nighttime villains, or Armadylan, at the PJ Masks school during the daytime? Well, in "All About Asteroids", Greg asks Newton what school he goes to, so evidently the city the heroes reside in has more than one Elementary School.
    • Didn't Luna or the mad scientist villain appear in the daytime one time? I remember the PJ Masks dealing with a weather-based problem during the day.
  • So the PJ Masks go to school during the day and fight villains at night. How do they not get tired? And do they ever get any sleep? This applies to the villains as well.
    • It's implied that the PJ Masks don't fight villains every night, and even when they do, it doesn't last the whole night. As for the villains, we can't assume anything, because we don't even get a glimpse of their civilian lives (if they have them at all).
      • And even if it’s occasionally all night, their powers (which only work in-costume) probably include not being tired. When they get home, they Power Nap.
