All of the bikies except Johnny the Boy visibly have a Phi symbol tattooed on their neck or cheek. Near the end when Max handcuffs him, he suddenly clearly has the tattoo on his neck. He had to earn it by burning Goose alive.
Neither Max's wife nor Goose have died by the end of Mad Max. With Max driving off into the wasteland after a Roaring Rampage of Revenge, it's not clear if he ever intends to return to his old life. He's apparently condemning his loved ones to live on in a horrible condition without any support from their husband/friend. The original intention for Lord Humungus in the sequel was that he is actually Goose.
Toecutter's gang doesn't know Jessie is a cop's wife, or that that cop is Max. They harass, terrorize, and kill her because she kicked Toecutter after they saw her buying ice cream for her son while on vacation. Why was she on vacation? Because her husband needed an escape from the violence. If Max had held out another week before his resignation, the gang never would've seen Jessie in the first place.
The woman in the red top and long white skirt. Toecutter's gang beat up her boyfriend and dragged him down the street behind a motorcycle. Yet she's still with them at the beach. Given that the gang has no qualms with rape or kidnapping, she's probably not there by choice.
