Fridge / Lady and the Tramp (2019)

• The 2019 adaptation removed Tramp and Lady's puppies and replaced them with two separate (but equally adorable) puppies named Dodge and Ollie that were adopted by Jock's owner, who was subsequently inspired to do so by the Darlings' adopting Tramp, which was done, at least partially, in order to enhance messages of the importance of adoption. However, as Lady is a pedigree Cocker Spaniel and had little to no knowledge of the pound nor of life on the streets, it would seem very unlikely that the protagonist of the film was adopted. The most logical explanation is that she was either bought from a pet-store or that she was purchased from a breeder, which somewhat dampens the film's emphasis on adoption. However, given that Lady's knowledge of strays and life on the streets (or lack thereof) is integral to the story and her character, as it sets her apart from Tramp, there was most likely no way of getting around this.
