Trivia / Lady and the Tramp (2019)

Go To

  • Actor Allusion: This wasn’t the first time Sam Elliott voiced a talking dog.
  • Author's Saving Throw: Aunt Sarah’s cats are given an entirely new jazz number, as their original song "We Are Siamese" had fallen hard into Values Dissonance with its Asian caricatures. Some of the lines remain similar in spirit to the original song, but without the racist subtext. It didn't exactly work, as many fans were upset given that the duo and their song were changed, given their popularity.
  • The Cast Showoff:
    • Janelle Monáe, Kiersey Clemons, Nate Wonder, Roman GianArthur, F. Murray Abraham, and Arturo Castro all perform their own singing.
    • Janelle Monae, Nate Wonder, and Roman GianArthurls also co-wrote "What a Shame" (replacing "We are Siamese").
  • Directed by Cast Member: The Latin American Spanish dub was directed by Gabriela Cárdenas, who provided additional voices in the film.
  • Direct to Video: Lady and the Tramp is the first of the Disney Live-Action Remakes not to be released theatrically, It was directly released for streaming on Disney+ instead.
  • The Other Darrin: In the Latin American Spanish dub, Betzabé Jara replaced Tessa Thompson's regular voice actress Alondra Hidalgo as the voice of Lady.
  • Portrayed by Different Species: The mutt Tramp is played by a Miniature Schnauzer. Peg, another mutt, is played by a Pekingese.
  • Real-Life Relative: Devon and Rex are voiced by real life brothers Nate Wonder and Roman GianArthurls.
  • Role Reprise: In the Latin American Spanish dub, veteran voice actor Francisco Colmenero, who voiced Bull in the animated film's original 1950s dub, reprises that role after 64 years.
  • You Look Familiar: In the Latin American Spanish dub, Jessica Ortiz, who voiced Angela in the animated film's sequel Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure, now voices Jock as a female.
