Fridge Logic: It's said that if any of the lifeforms from the island were to escape, all life on every continent would be wiped out. Yet it's also said that isolated islands would be spared because Henders lifeforms are weak to saltwater, which raises the question of how they would spread beyond one continent.
- Boats and airplanes? Many continents also have land bridges so if one outbreak occurred in Europe, it could spread to Asia and Africa. If one happened in North America it could spread to South America. The only widely inhabited continent not touching another continent and surrounded by water is Australia.
- Drifting on a raft to an isolated island by sheer chance is how some of the Henders organisms are left alive to be rediscovered in the sequel.
