Fridge Brilliance
  • In "Gleam Like A Blade" Yang says that her attempts to recreate her mother's Stardust Dragon were all failures; even though she managed to get the Type, Attribute, ATK, and DEF all exactly the same as Stardust, the dragon's spirit simply wasn't willing to bond with her. But what monster has the exact same statistics as Stardust Dragon exactly? Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. A card she gets at the end of Chapter 16.
  • Penny's deck is near identical to Yusaku/Playmaker's Cyberse deck. There are many reasons why this ends up fitting her perfectly.
    • The Cyber theme of VRAINS and the Cyberse cards nicely alludes to Penny's own origins as an android.
    • VRAINS revolved around AI capable of emotions and thought, similar to Penny herself.
    • The Cyberse cards and Link Monsters being the first of their kind aligns with Penny being the first synthetic person capable of generating an Aura in canon.
    • And finally, in a case of irony, Yusaku was a normal human that acted far more stoic and robotic due to the trauma he went through as a child, causing him to be incapable of forming bonds until later during the series. Penny, despite being an android, acts very positive and sociable, easily fitting in with the others.
  • While Adam's use of the Six Samurai archetype is partially a means of turning humanity's tools of oppressions against the Faunus against them (at least in his head), and a sign of his victory over his last SDC overseer, it also represents how, deep down, Adam is jumping head over heels into He Who Fights Monsters by not only developing new cards for it that are more effective against Pendulum cards so he can deal with "traitors", but also studying and apparently low-key idolizing the figure the cards were based on despite him being a Faunus-hating human.
  • Astral asserting that Jaune is a better choice to help him recover his memories than Oobleck has more logic behind it than just fondness for his friend. While Oobleck may be more knowledgeable regarding matters of history and archaeology, it is unknown if he would actually be willing to help the spirit given that evidence indicates he may have been dangerous in the past. Furthermore, the Doctor would likely bring the matter straight to Ozpin, who RWBY and JNPR have been warned against discussing matters of over 100 Numbers with, and Astral and Weiss have deduced would not react well to the matter, leaving the key lying around at best, or sealed at worst.
    • Even on the topic of archaeological knowledge, Jaune's own sister is clearly a big name in the scientific community, having been the one to find the key in the first place, and could feasibly provide some insight on the topic at her brothers request (even if she were suspicious). As such, revealing his presence to Oobleck has very little advantages to give him compared to his current situation.
