In her postgame email to Mario, Goombell remarks "...in my opinion, Koo Koopie has a lot of fingers!" Putting aside the usual Non Sequitur stuff that's to be expected, of course Goombell would think Koo Koopie (or anyone, really) has a lot of fingers. She's a Goomba; she doesn't have hands, so any amount of fingers is, to her, a lot.
Book of Mario (64)
Browser killing Mario at the start of 64 is at odds with his normal behavior and in a roundabout way causes the War when the Stellarvinden possess Mario. But just before that, Browser uses the Star of Rodin, which makes his feelings for Mario go haywire and boosts his strength instead of Mario's, strongly suggesting it was a plan by the Stellarvinden or the Star of Rodin all along.
There is a point later in the game that says the Star of Rodin stole Browser, so it's quite likely that it exercises willpower on him just as much as he stole it.
