These are recommendations made by Tropers for Planetbase game fanfics, of which there are but a few. All of them have to be signed to stay on the page. Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here.

A Penguin: Let's Play Planetbase

- Synopsis: Unlike regular Lets Plays with videos and such, this is more in line with a fanfic, supported by screenshots and drawn faces, as the person playing Planetbase is actually a character inside the story. The readers—and Piedro, the eponymous penguin—start with the first construction of the base, and follow Piedro’s struggle in keeping his colonists alive. Later on Piedro has to deal with typhoons at his home (not in the game), loss of save games, and so on. All the while the narrative also explores the in-game perspective of some of the colonists as they also struggle and die. Ghost stories of former colonies start up and what’s with these… are these mass graves? What’s going on here?
- Suffice it to say, there’s a metaplot going on that the author has but scratched the surface off. Incidentally, bluepencil also runs another Lets Play with a comparable premise, but other cartoon Lets Players as characters. Their game of choice is The Movies. So far there’s no overlap, but they are at least acquainted with Piedro the Penguin and his accidentally hilarious disaster of an LP.
